Man of The House

Dad, thank you for everything.

As your oldest, and having just graduated from college, I have unique perspective among your sons on which to reflect on you this fathers day. Having known you for about 22 years (plus gestation if you want to count it), I have learned a great deal about you as a person. Every year throughout my life I have learned to appreciate you further. It has been a tough mix for you.

You somehow managed to give me both a comfortable life and a work ethic. You have taught me about fashion (there goes my wallet), skiing, sailing, business, and life. You have taught me to work for the things I want. You have inspired me to learn, to strive, and to be the best at whatever I try.

Among the plethora of memories we have created together, there are a few that are running through my mind this fathers day. The time when I was a baby and pissed all over your pants that inspired you to always carry an extra set of clothing with you. The time on our sailboat when you told the me the differnece between people who only go sailing in the sun and people who go sailing in anything. The summer we got up at 5 in the morning to go biking (we should do that again). The time you let me borrow your car for my senior prom. My 21st birthday present, when you bought me a suit. The list goes on.

Dad, you have been there throughout my life, and while there are times when we fight or disagree, that never prevents you from giving me good advice. Thank you dad, for being the man of the house.

Zachary

P.S. I didn't forget
